A 72-year-old man was badly injured when he was pushed off his bike in an Aberdeenshire town, police have said.

The man was cycling along Fraserburgh's beach promenade at South Harbour Road between 10:00 and 11:00 last Thursday.

Police Scotland said he was pushed off his bicycle, suffered a serious injury, and was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The male suspect was seen walking two grey Welsh Terrier-type dogs and was accompanied by a woman.

Sgt Sam Hewett: “Our inquiries into this incident are ongoing and I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened or saw the man and woman to contact us, external.

"I would also urge anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time to get in touch, as it could assist with our investigation."
