Police recover performance car stolen from airfield

Norfolk Police says the Volkswagen Golf was found in Suffolk on Monday evening

One of five high-performance cars stolen from an airfield has been recovered by police.

Five cars, worth about £450,000 in total, were stolen from Tibenham Airfield, near Diss, Norfolk, on Saturday.

A gold Audi R8, yellow and black Mercedes AMG, red Lamborghini Huracán, white and blue VW Golf Club Sport and white Porsche Cayman, were taken between midnight and 04:00 BST.

On X, external, Norfolk Police said the Volkswagen Golf was found in Suffolk on Monday evening.

The car had been wrapped in the blue and while colours of Sale Sharks rugby club.

A company called Car Chase Heroes had booked the airfield between Friday and Monday but only Friday's event was able to go ahead.

Nik Coleman from the firm said: "We've been left shocked, saddened and upset that criminals should spoil so many people's enjoyment."

The force said inquiries to find the remaining cars were ongoing.
