People are being asked to wear yellow clothing to raise money for a Somerset hospice this week.

St Margaret's Hospice, which has centres in Yeovil and Taunton, is running its Wear It Yellow campaign to help raise funds as part of Hospice Care Week.

The charity has been running for more than 40 years and helps people with life-limiting illnesses.

Hayley Milne is from the charity and told BBC Radio Somerset: "We are hoping to get all of Somerset wearing yellow throughout this week."

St Margaret's have also involved schools and workplaces to help raise money with fundraising pack for the local hospice.

Ms Milne, from the charity, continued: "We are always looking for different ways to raise money because we are a community funded charity.

"We don’t get a huge amount of funding from the government."

"The hospice has to raise £10m through fundraising and our 31 retail shops across Somerset are jammed packed with yellow items."
