A woman in her 60s is in a critical condition following a road collision, police have said.

Suffolk Police were called to a two-vehicle crash on the A12 in Yoxford between Middleton Road and Westleton Road, shortly after 16:10 GMT on Thursday.

A woman driving a Volkswagen Golf was taken to the James Paget Hospital in Norfolk before being transferred to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of a BMW, a man in his 70s, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and taken to hospital as a precaution.

Police appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to come forward.
