A fire has broken out across several warehouse units containing seven tonnes of scrap metal in Bristol.

Avon Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to reports of the blaze in the St Werbugh's area of the city at about 14:20 GMT on Saturday.

The service said five crews were at the scene in New Gatton Road, with fire officers using breathing apparatus and firefighting jets.

Residents in nearby properties and drivers passing by are being urged to close their windows due to the smoke.

There are no road closures and no reported casualties, the service added.
