Police officers from Northamptonshire will feature in the latest series of a long-running TV show.

Northamptonshire Police said its officers would appear in Channel 5's programme Police Interceptors, which begins its 23rd series later.

Staff from the force's operations department and neighbourhood policing teams will be the focus of the episodes.

Det Ch Insp Shelley Nichols said a film crew from Raw Cut TV, who produce the show, were "embedded with our officers for some time" and joined them as they responded to incidents.

She said: "Our officers respond to challenging incidents every shift and this series will showcase the way we respond to crimes that are committed, as well as support members of the public who need our help."

The first episode will air on Channel 5 at 20:00 BST on Monday.
