Woman dies after being hit by a lorry on motorway

A woman has died after being struck by a lorry on the M40 in Warwickshire.
Officers were called after the woman, aged in her 50s, was hit between Junctions 15 and 16, near Warwick, at about 16:35 BST on Wednesday.
Warwickshire Police said she was pronounced dead at the scene and her next of kin had been informed.
Road closures were in place on the motorway while emergency services were in attendance, a force spokesperson added.
