A trackside blaze resulted in a "do not travel" warning being issued overnight by a rail operator in part of Essex.

Greater Anglia told its customers to stay away after the fire broke out near Thorpe-le-Soken on Monday evening.

Network Rail said lines between Colchester and Walton-on-the-Naze had since reopened, with some minor delays.

It said fire-damaged cables would need to be replaced.
