Police are looking for a man who approached a 10-year-old boy and showed him a knife.

The suspect asked the child his name as he waited outside the Premier shop on Park Road in Stonehouse at about 15:40 BST on Friday before pulling out the blade.

The boy ran to a friend's house nearby who called police, while the man left the area in the direction of Elm Road, Gloucestershire Police said.

The suspect is described as 30 to 40 years old, about 5ft5in (168cm), of average build with cropped ginger hair and a ginger beard.

He was wearing a black jumper with writing on it and baggy blue jeans, police said.

Anyone who has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, or any information that might identify the man, is asked to contact police.
