Four more people have been arrested after environmental protesters climbed to the top of two 75m (246ft) high chimney stacks at a gas-fired power station in Nottinghamshire.

Greenpeace said eight activists scaled the chimney stacks at Staythorpe Power Station near Newark on Monday morning in a protest over the role gas played in setting electricity prices.

Eight people were arrested for aggravated trespassing and have all since been released on bail, Nottinghamshire Police said.

On Tuesday, three men, aged 68, 60 and 36, and a 40-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of interfering with the use/operation of key national infrastructure, and have also been released on bail, the force added.
