A family has paid tribute to a "much-loved mum, grandma and friend" who died in a crash involving two cars on Sunday.
Anne Purvis, 81, was pronounced dead at the scene following a collision between the blue Volkswagen Polo she was driving and a grey Mercedes GLC in Ickleton, Cambridgeshire, just before 12:00 BST.
A man, a woman and a girl in the Mercedes had minor injuries after the crash in Frogge Street.
In a tribute, the family of Ms Purvis, who lived in Duxford, said she was a former head teacher in Great Chesterford in Essex.
The family added that she had been a teacher in Duxford before becoming head in the village further down the M11.
The family's statement, issued through Cambridgeshire Police, said: "She was a much-loved mum, grandma, sister and friend who will be very greatly missed."
Police said an investigation was ongoing and asked anyone with information to contact the force.
