Man charged with attempted murder and poisoning

A man has been charged with attempted murder in an investigation into a suspected poisoning.
Thomas Kwan, of no fixed abode, is accused of one count of attempted murder and one count of administering a noxious substance.
The offences relate to two victims and are alleged to have happened between September 2022 and January 2024 in Newcastle, Northumbria Police say.
The 54-year-old is due to appear before Newcastle Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
The charge of attempted murder relates to a man in his 70s, and the charge of administering a noxious substance to a man now aged in his 50s.
