People living in and near a block of flats were evacuated after it caught fire.

Hertfordshire Police said the blaze could have been started deliberately in a flat on Station Road in Cuffley at about 23:00 BST on Wednesday.

Police evacuated properties and closed Station Road, Cuffley Hill and Theobald Road as there was a risk the fire could spread.

Officers said the incident was being treated as arson and asked those with information to contact them.

The force added the flat where the fire started had been "completely destroyed" but no injuries were reported.
