Woman seriously injured after e-bike collision

The woman was seriously hurt after the collision on Alpine Street at its junction with Elgar Road

A woman in her 50s was seriously injured and taken to hospital after being hit by an e-bike.

The rider stopped briefly but then left without providing details following the crash at about 18:00 GMT on Monday on Elgar Road in Reading.

Police said the rider was described as an Asian male aged between 16 and his early 20s who was not wearing a helmet and had dark coloured curly or permed hair.

Thames Valley Police appealed for the rider or anyone who saw or has footage of the incident, which happened at the road's junction with Alpine Street, to come forward.
