Man held over woman's death is released on bail

An investigation was launched on Saturday following the death of a woman in Rotherham

A man arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead at a property in Rotherham has been released on bail.

Officers were called by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to an address on Ox Close Avenue at about 00:20 BST on Saturday after the discovery of the body of a 35-year-old woman, according to South Yorkshire Police.

The woman's death was being treated as unexplained, a force spokesperson said.

A 48-year-old man who was arrested on Saturday had since been bailed pending further investigations, they added.

Officers asked anyone with information about the incident to contact South Yorkshire Police.
