Driver dies after crash with HGV parked in layby

A man has died after his van crashed into an HGV tractor unit that was parked in a layby.

The HGV was close to the Flower Bowl Entertainment Centre on the A6 near Garstang when the crash happened shortly before 04:00 BST on Tuesday, Lancashire Police said

The Volkswagen van driver, aged in his 30s, suffered series injuries and later died. The HGV driver was not badly injured.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of what happened to contact the force.
