A section of the A38 will close overnight for urgent works for the HS2 rail line to take place.

The southbound carriageway in Lichfield will shut for the next two nights between 21:00 BST and 05:00 BST so work to clear vegetation blocking road signage can take place.

There will be a signed diversion in place from A38 at Hilliard’s Cross through to Wood End Lane, to join A515 Tewnals Lane to A51 Stafford Road, then A5192 Eastern Avenue, to then rejoin the A38 southbound.

HS2 is a high-speed link between Birmingham and London. It is aimed at cutting journey times, creating more space on the rail network and more jobs outside London.
