Man injured in city centre disorder

Police are appealing for information after a man was injured during disorder in Birmingham city centre.

Officers said the 19-year-old suffered a slash wound to his arm during the disorder on High Street at about 19:50 BST on Tuesday.

A large pedestrianised area in front of one of the entrances to the Bullring shopping centre was cordoned off following the incident.

The disorder had involved a group of men who were believed to be known to each other, a West Midlands Police spokesperson said.

Eyewitnesses told the BBC they had seen a fight between two groups of young people.

No arrests had yet been made and inquiries were continuing, the force said.
