A man has been jailed for 16 months after a cyclist was attacked by three "dangerously out-of-control dogs" at a supermarket, police said.
Joshua Ellison, 34, was arrested in April last year after the victim was bitten several times on his legs outside Lidl in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire.
Ellison, from Turnpike Court in the town, was jailed at St Albans Crown Court after admitting three offences relating to his dogs, which police said were a type of bulldog/herder crossbreed.
"Dog owners have a responsibility to ensure that they keep their pets under control," said Det Con Edward-John Folan, from Hertfordshire Police.
"Everyone is entitled to feel safe when going about their business."

He has also been banned from owning a dog for 10 years and been ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £187.
