Woman charged with attempted murder after stabbing

A woman has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in Broadstairs.

Kent Police said officers were called to the St Peter's area of the costal town at 18:50 GMT on Thursday.

A woman, aged in her 20s, was taken to a London hospital, where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

Carla Lovejoy, 53, from Broadstairs, has been charged with attempted murder.

Police said she was known to the victim.

Ms Lovejoy has been remanded in police custody and will appear at Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Monday.
