Motorcyclist, 48, dies after collision with car

Police have appealed for any witnesses to the collision to get in touch

A motorcyclist involved in a collision with a car has died, police said.

Essex Police was called to London Road, Ongar, at about 15:15 BST on Thursday and shut the carriageway upon arrival.

The motorcyclist, a 48-year-old man, died at the scene "despite the best efforts of all involved", the force said.

Officers have appealed for anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to get in touch.
