A fire which ripped through a derelict social club is believed to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters were called to a large blaze at Ings Lane Sports & Social Club, in Vancouver Drive, Bolton upon Dearne, for the second time this week at 23:00 BST on Thursday.

As of 10:30 BST on Friday, two engines remained at the scene of the fire with no injuries reported, a South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.

The spokesperson confirmed the blaze was believed to have been started deliberately and advised nearby residents to continue to keep windows closed.

The incident overnight comes after crews were also called to a fire on Tuesday, with the fire extinguished at 04:00 BST on Wednesday.
