A police officer has been charged with dangerous driving after a man was seriously injured when he was hit at a pedestrian crossing in Lincoln city centre.

PC Aodan O'Neill, 27, was alleged to have driven a Vauxhall Astra police car dangerously on Broadgate on 4 November 2024, Lincolnshire Police said.

He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

The force said Mr O'Neill was currently on non-operational duties.
