A man has appeared in court accused of committing sexual assaults at a care home.

Joshua Wesley Springer, 35, of Cornstall Buildings, Stamford, appeared at Lincoln Crown Court charged with three counts of rape and three counts of sexual activity against three women with mental health conditions.

Springer, who spoke only to confirm his name, was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on 18 November, when he will be asked to enter a plea.

A trial date has been provisionally set for 19 January.

Judge Sjolin Knight made an order preventing the details of the care home from being published in order to protect the anonymity of the complainants.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson previously said Mr Springer was initially arrested and bailed in June following a report of a woman being sexually assaulted at the home.
