Two teenagers have been arrested after a pair of 15-year-old boys were stabbed in Birmingham.

Police were called to Cole Bank Road just after 15:30 GMT on Tuesday.

One of the victims had suffered a knife wound to the back while the other was stabbed in the arm. They were taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

Two boys, aged 16 and 18, were arrested on Tuesday night on suspicion of wounding with intent, and remain in custody. A knife has been recovered as part of the investigation.

West Midlands Police said officers were following up a number of lines of inquiry, reviewing CCTV, and speaking to witnesses.

The force said it was also stepping up patrols in the area and working with schools to offer reassurance to students and parents.
