Man charged with rape at riverside footpath

A man has been charged with rape after an alleged attack on a riverside footpath a month ago.

Norfolk Police sealed off the path, next to the Prince of Wales Road bridge in Norwich city centre, after an incident that was alleged to have taken place at about 23:30 BST on Wednesday, 17 September.

Bali Hoxha, 28, of West Tofts near Thetford, has been charged with the rape of a woman aged 16 or over, sexual assault of a female aged 13 or over, and assault on a female.

Appearing at Norwich Magistrates' Court, he was remanded in custody and is next due to appear at Norwich Crown Court on 12 November. He has not been asked to enter a plea yet.
