A man is in hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a car which failed to stop at the scene, police have said.
The man, aged in his 70s, was hit by a car on Walnut Tree Close, close to the Riverside Business Centre in Guildford, at about 18:30 GMT on Friday.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital, where he remains.
Surrey Police said the driver of the car, a man in his 60s, was later arrested on suspicion of drink driving, causing serious injury by driving without due care, and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.
He has been released under investigation, the force said.
Meanwhile, it said it wanted to trace the "movements and manner of driving" of a black Mercedes SUV prior to the crash.
It asked anyone travelling in the area around Walnut Tree Close between 18:20 and 18:40 on Friday to get in touch if they may have captured any footage of the crash.
