A 33-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a "violent altercation" in a bar left three people with serious injuries.

Cleveland Police officers were called to Peggy Junes Bar on Queen Street in Redcar on Saturday night.

Appearing at Teesside Magistrates' Court the man was also charged with aggravated burglary, two counts of criminal damage and affray.

A 37-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman have also been charged with assisting an offender and all three were remanded in custody to appear at the crown court on 18 March.

The woman was also charged with possession of a blade and assault.
