Outdoor concert series returns to castle

A series of outdoor concerts is returning to Tamworth Castle Grounds this summer.
There will be four consecutive nights of concerts in August, organised by the borough council and production company ShowPlanr.
This year’s event builds on a three-night series staged there last year.
The line-up this year includes a rock orchestra and country music as well as 80s tribute acts and musical theatre performances.
Stephen Gabriel, chief executive of Tamworth Borough Council, commented: “After the huge success of last year’s open air concerts, Tamworth Borough Council wanted to be able to bring another live stage to our stunning castle grounds this August for an extended weekend of live outdoor music."
The full line up comprises:
Thursday 8 August: London Symphonic Rock Orchestra
Friday 9 August: Country Superstars and The Dolly & Kenny Experience
Saturday 10 August: The George Michael Legacy and 80s Mania
Sunday 11 August: Defying Gravity - West End Women with special guests Richard and Adam
Chris Jenkins, managing director of ShowPlanr said: “Following a successful first year in 2023 we're looking forward to delivering an even better customer experience this year.
“With the addition of a Thursday night concert, a more varied set of acts and some great-value ticket options, we're hoping even more Tamworth residents and visitors will join us this August.”
