Businesses in Guernsey are being encouraged to apply for a royal award following the visit from King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

Guernsey Chamber of Commerce said they hoped to use the royal visit to the bailiwick this week to promote the King's Awards for Enterprise.

The awards give businesses the chance to receive royal recognition and showcase their businesses on a wider stage.

Alice Gill, from the chamber, said business owners who met the King and Queen understood "the value that photo opportunity created".

"We know Guernsey is full of businesses that deserve recognition on a global stage," she said.

'Innovative product'

Mrs Gill said the awards offered opportunities for everyone from "a small business with a great innovative product or service" to larger firms running "an impressive social mobility programme".

The awards have four categories

  • International Trade

  • Innovation

  • Sustainable Development

  • Promoting Opportunity (through social mobility)

Applications close on 12 September and winners will be announced in May 2025.
