Woman charged with murder appears in court

A woman charged with the murder of 44-year-old Gillian Connelly has appeared in court.

Stephanie McLaggan, 37, of North Warren Road, Gainsborough, attended a first hearing at Lincoln Magistrates' Court earlier.

Lincolnshire Police were called to Wheeldon Street in the town, at 04:20 BST on Sunday. Ms Connelly was found with serious injuries and died in hospital.

Ms McLaggan is set to appear for an application for bail hearing at Lincoln Crown Court on Thursday morning.

Steven Lowther, 45, and Jade Glover, 28, both of Wheeldon Street, were charged with perverting the course of justice in connection with the case.

They are both also set to appear at Lincoln Crown Court on Thursday for a mention hearing.
