Driver injured after brick thrown at tram
The impact showered the driver with pieces of windscreen glass

A Nottingham tram driver was injured and his vehicle damaged when a brick was thrown at it from a bridge, police have said.
The attack happened at the Church Street bridge, Old Basford, at around 19:00 BST on Tuesday, officers confirmed
The brick struck the windscreen, covering the driver with glass and inflicting minor facial injuries.
It is believed the object came from a group of people and police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
PC Rob Garvey, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was an incredibly scary incident for the driver and the passengers on board.
"Fortunately, the tram wasn’t travelling at its usual full speed when it was struck.
"If it had been then it is likely the driver would have suffered serious injury or worse.
“Reckless behaviour such as this is incredibly dangerous, and it is extremely fortunate that nobody was seriously injured."
Trevor Stocker, head of operations at Nottingham Express Transit (NET), said: “This is a very serious incident that we are viewing as an attempt to directly undermine the safety of our drivers as well as the passengers on board our trams.
“We’re working closely with the police on this incident and have shared our CCTV footage taken from numerous cameras across our network, to help them in their search for finding those responsible."
