Council builds new affordable homes

A council has worked with a contractor and agent to provide new affordable homes.
Wiltshire Council has teamed with Redcliffe Homes and Ridge and Partners to build three affordable rent and nine shared ownership homes in Chippenham.
This development is part of Wiltshire Council's programme to invest £200m into building 1,000 affordable homes up to 2030.
Councillor Phil Alford said: “These new homes provide much needed affordable housing with low running costs. This forms part of our wider vision for affordable homes across the county."
The new builds at Rowden Brook come with private gardens, drives and carports.
There will be a new children's play area to encourage outdoor play.
As well as this, the homes have an energy performance certificate of B, which means they are well insulated and warm.
