Hundreds of homes are still without electricity after an unexpected power cut hit Oxfordshire earlier.

Scottish and Southern Electric (SSE) said engineers have been sent to the OX4 area, where 682 homes were left without power because of an underground network fault.

Another unplanned outage has also affected 967 homes in the OX29 area, where issues with an overhead power line have been reported.

SSE said it was aiming to restore supplies in both areas by 18:00 BST on Friday.

Power has already been restored in the OX5 area where 27 homes were affected.
