Taylor Swift has spoken about her "phenomenal" Welsh fans and said that she will never forget her iconic Cardiff gig.

It was the only city in the entire 152-date Eras tour to get just one show.

The superstar was speaking with Scott Mills ahead of her new 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl.

The pair discussed the "amazing" crowd that supported her that night and whether she left Easter Eggs - clues that could point to something else she has planned - for her fans that night.

Thousands of fans piled into the Principality Stadium on 18 June as the record-breaking artist delighted her supporters, also known as Swifties.

It was her first time playing a show in Cardiff and she did not disappoint, rattling off hit after hit from her Eras Tour setlist.

Speaking to Scott Mills, Swift said she "never expected" the reception she received from the Welsh crowd that night.

"I'll never forget what that crowd was like," she said.

"I was just like, 'you guys are on another level, I gotta go back'."

From nods to the Welsh language to crowd-pleasing surprise songs, she made the land of song fall in love with her.

During the interview, Swift also addressed her much talked-about outfit choice on the night of the Cardiff gig.

She wore a brand new skirt and top combination with many assuming she had gone for red and green to match the Welsh flag.

But, in some lights, the skirt looked much more orange.

"There were a lot of orange clues throughout. Yeah, for sure," Swift said.

Cardiff was the only city on the Eras tour where Taylor Swift played just one show

When the orange and green album artwork for The Life Of A Showgirl was revealed in August, many asked if the Cardiff outfit had actually revealed the new album's colour scheme for the very first time.

As well as being the only city out of more than 50 to get just one night of the Eras show, Cardiff was also the 103rd show of the tour.

After announcing her new album on her fiancé Travis Kelce's podcast New Heights in August, Swift revealed it would be released on 3 October – or 10/3 in US date order - which many fans claimed to be another Easter egg.

Listen to The Radio 2 Breakfast Show with Scott Mills on 6 October from 08:00 BST to hear the full interview.
