Man critical in hospital after Hull attack

Police cordoned off the scene of the incident while investigations took place on Friday

A man is critically ill in hospital after police were called to reports of a serious assault in Hull.
Officers were called to Spring Bank at 23:50 BST on Thursday.
Humberside Police said a 33-year-old man was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries to his head.
A 23-year-old man, who police believe knew the victim, has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
Det Insp Lloyd Sharkett said: "At this time, we believe the attacker knew the victim, but our inquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances.
"We would urge anyone with any information or concerns, to please speak to officers whilst they're out and about."
Officers said a scene guard that was put in place on Spring Bank has now been lifted, but there will be a continued police presence in the area.
