Firefighters tackle large blaze at Glasgow scrapyard

Firefighters have worked through the night to tackle a large blaze at a scrapyard in Glasgow.
Six fire engines, a high-reach and specialist resources were dispatched to the S Norton Glasgow East recycling facility on London Road at about 19:20. Two appliances remain at the scene.
Police Scotland said the street had been closed to traffic from Methven Street to Maukinfauld Road and encouraged local residents to keep their windows closed.
A spokesperson for the fire service said no casualties had been reported.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 19:20 on Thursday, 10 September to reports of a fire affecting a recycling centre on London Road, Glasgow.
"Firefighters worked through the night at the scene and two fire appliances remain in attendance to make the area safe."
