A group of men attempted to steal thousands of pounds from a pub in Lincoln, police have said.

Four men entered The Strait and Narrow and ordered two rounds of drinks last Wednesday at around 18:55 BST.

When asked to pay, one of the men allegedly tampered with the card machine to transfer money to his card, while the others distracted staff, Lincolnshire Police said.

Officers have released an image of men who may be able to help with their inquiries.

Staff at the pub contacted the bank and were able to cancel the payment.

The four men went on to visit other businesses in the city, where they attempted to perform the same trick, police said.

Officers are also seeking the men in connection with a similar incident at a mobile phone store in Boston on 3 June.
