A dispersal order has been put in place to ward off anti-social behaviour in Clifton during Halloween.

Nottinghamshire Police said the order would be in place for 48 hours from 16:00 GMT on Thursday.

It covers Southchurch Drive and surrounding streets along the tram network as well as Clifton Park.

The force said the order was a result of "issues" in the area during Halloween "over the past couple of years".

Officers will be able to direct people they suspect to be causing trouble to leave the area under the order and arrest those who fail to comply.

A dispersal order was issued in the city suburb during disorder on 31 October in 2023.

Fireworks were reportedly thrown at members of the public and cars, with one landing in a pushchair which was carrying a two-year-old child, police said at the time.

Officers who attended the scene also had fireworks thrown at them, according to police.

The force also issued a dispersal order in Clifton during Halloween in 2024.
