A sum of £2.2m is being invested to "future proof" a borehole site which supplies water to Wolverhampton homes, service provider Severn Trent has said.
The work off Dimmingsdale Road would extend the lifespan of the boreholes and improve the network's resilience for future demand and changing weather conditions, according to the company.
The construction project is due to begin in January 2026 and continue until April 2027.
The company said disruption to customers' water and waste services was not anticipated during the work.
It added that all work would take place within its own boundary, so no road closures were planned.
Acoustic barriers and monitoring equipment would be used to limit noise and vibration during the project, Severn Trent said.
Janine Billington, community communications officer at Severn Trent, said: "This £2.2m investment is a vital step in protecting water supplies for the future.
"By upgrading and maintaining our borehole infrastructure, we're making sure our customers continue to receive high-quality water, even as demand grows and climate conditions change.
"We're committed to keeping disruption to a minimum."
