Police are investigating after "about 10 people" reported being shot at with a BB gun from a moving car.

Nottinghamshire Police said the shots were reported in the Bestwood and Sherwood areas of Nottingham on Wednesday.

Two victims were hit to their leg and hand in Beckhampton Road, Bestwood, at 17:40 BST.

Another report was received, shortly after 18:00, that a pedestrian was hit in the face with a pellet at the junction of Beckhampton Road and Bestwood Park Drive.

Officers said four people then reported being shot at by a BB gun from a moving vehicle in Winchester Street just after 19:20.

The force said no serious injuries were reported but it added patrols had been stepped up in the areas, where doorbell and CCTV footage is being checked.

A dark-coloured car is believed to have been involved and police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
