Police have launched an investigation after the body of a man was found in a flat in Leicester.

Leicestershire Police said officers were called to the property in Foxon Street, off Braunstone Gate, shortly before 19:15 BST on Monday.

The force said a 46-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the death, but declined to say what offence he was suspected of committing.

He remained in custody on Tuesday, police added.

A cordon is in place and investigations continue.

A police spokesperson said a post-mortem examination was due to be carried out and appealed for anyone with information about the death to contact officers.
