The collision happened on Barnsley Road in South Elmsall

A woman in her 70s is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a motorcycle.

The pedestrian was struck by the bike in Barnsley Road, South Elmsall at about 09:15 BST on Friday, West Yorkshire Police said.

The road was closed while investigations took place but re-opened later the same day.

A force spokesperson said the rider of the motorcycle had stopped at the scene and was helping officers with their inquiries.
