Politicians have agreed to restore a pipe organ that was gifted to the government in 1934.
The Compton organ has been on display in Fort Regent which is due to be emptied by the end of the year so redevelopment works can begin.
The 1930s organ was moved to the Queen's Hall from the old Forum Cinema in 1991, but it has not been regularly played or maintained since.
In the States Assembly on Thursday deputy Lucy Stephenson asked about the organ's fate and Infrastructure Minister constable Andy Jehan promised to protect it.
The organ was given to the people of Jersey by Malcolm L'Amy and Percy Hamel in 1991.
Stephenson asked Jehan to thank the donors, which he did, saying it was a "significant contribution" that will be protected.
