A baby was threatened with what is believed to be broken glass during a car hijacking in Belfast city centre.
Police said a man got into a white Vauxhall Agila on Donegall Place after a delivery driver got out of the car at around 03:50 BST on Saturday, leaving his partner and her young baby in the back seat.
After driving off, the man turned and held what the woman believed to be a broken bottle or piece of broken glass to the head of the young baby and told her to get out of the car in the Fountain Lane area.
Once the woman and baby got out, the man drove towards City Hall and onto Chichester Street.
The vehicle was later found in Upper Stanfield Street, near Lanyon Place train station.
The police said a second man had approached the car with the suspect and appeared to try to stop him, but was unsuccessful.
Detective Sergeant McVeagh said: "This was an absolutely shocking incident, and an extremely distressing ordeal for the victims.
"They have been left shaken, but thankfully otherwise uninjured."
The police said enquiries are ongoing and have appealed for information from anyone who saw anything or who has video footage.
Sinn Féin councillor Ciaran Beattie said it was a "disgraceful incident" and his "thoughts are with those impacted".
