Shop manager treks Great Wall of China for charity
- Published
A Sue Ryder shop manager has raised £4,000 for the charity with a six-day trek along the Great Wall of China.
Natalie Marshall, who has worked at the Peterborough branch for about a decade, completed up to seven hours of walking a day during her latest adventure.
The 48-year-old from Dogsthorpe described it as one of her toughest challenges.
She previously trekked the Sahara Desert in 2019, raising £3,500 for the charity, which provides end-of-life and bereavement support services.
She said: "This was one of the toughest challenges I’ve ever faced, leaving me in pain, emotional and overwhelmed throughout but I lived to tell the tale and can safely say it was definitely worth every step.
"I am very aware of the vital support the charity provides and am proud to say that the money raised will help Sue Ryder ensure that everyone approaching the end of life or living with grief can access the support they need."
She thanked the volunteers at Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice for holding events to raise money for her challenge.
