Some staff at Jersey airport have been made redundant after they were asked to reapply for their jobs.

Ports of Jersey has reorganised the way some staff work, with anyone who deals with the public, for example security staff and other assistants, now coming under the same department.

The department claimed it would make the airport more efficient and better for travellers.

Those people who decided not to apply for the new roles have received redundancy packages.

It said that fewer than 10 people have chosen to leave.
