Burst pipe hits water supply for 1,000 properties
- Published
About 1,000 properties have had no water or low pressure due to a burst pipe "which is more complicated to fix than expected", according to the water company.
Anglian Water has apologised to customers in West Mersea, Essex, after initially saying the taps would be fixed by early afternoon, but that has been delayed until 17:00 BST.
A spokesperson said: "We're working hard to get your water supply back to normal as soon as possible."
Conservative councillor at Colchester City Council, Martin Parsons, said once fixed the water would be cloudy for a while and urged residents to "run your taps for a bit".
