Northampton Film Festival confirms 2025 line-up

A town's film festival director hopes this year's event will "inspire people to do something creative".
The Northampton Film Festival will showcase 80 films which "capture the town's character" between 7 March and 15 March.
Local and British-made films which fit with the festival's theme - rebels and revolutionaries, misfits and mavericks, creatives and changemakers – will be screened across nine days.
Becky Carrier, festival director, said the event had "stepped up" over the last two years.
She said: "We get a lot of people who come from outside of Northamptonshire that come along and go, 'this film festival is really punching above its weight'.
"It's great because Northamptonshire, in so many respects, punches above its weight and that's what we're trying to do with the film festival."
'Rebels and revolutionaries'
The 2025 Northampton Film Festival will officially launch with a red carpet opening gala.
This year's programme also includes two closing awards ceremonies, which will be held at the guildhall, and a cinematic celebration of women in film for International Women's Day.
All of the films being screened are in the running for best film in various categories and the awards will honour young filmmakers under the age of 16 and will celebrate the winning movies.
"I think what we're trying to do is capture the character of Northampton and Northamptonshire with the things that we do, which we say, is a place of 'rebels and revolutionaries, misfits and mavericks, creators and changemakers," Ms Carrier added.
"We're doing a screening for local school children in collaboration with the world's leading festival for people with learning disabilities and autism. We're doing a big opening gala, which, you know, is all that red carpet dressing up.
"Hopefully [the event] will inspire people to do something for themselves, whether it's making a film or doing something else creative."
The Northampton Film Festival will start on 7 March at Delapre Abbey, Northampton.
