Coastguard called to beach rescue near caravan park

A Coastguard helicopter was called in to rescue a person who got into difficulty in the water at Bellochantuy Beach in Argyll and Bute.

The rescue team from Campbeltown was alerted to the incident near a caravan park at about 20:00 on Wednesday.

Police and ambulance crews were also involved in the search and rescue.

An HM Coastguard spokesperson said: "The person was located and transferred to hospital."
